You know how it goes. You sign up looking for somebody to get dinner with, and within a week you are fielding messages from a guy who very clearly read your profile as a menu.

So we did the obvious thing, being the consent company and all. Everyone on Friends On Deck signs a platonic declaration. Not a checkbox buried in settings. A condition of being here.

We are not going to insult you by promising nobody will ever try. People are people. What we will tell you is that when it happens, it is a violation rather than a vibe, and we act on it.

And if you do want to date, Love On Deck is right there. Same account. We are not going to make you sneak around inside a friend app to do it.

Search Filters control who you see. Set what you want in a friend and that is what comes back. Every app has some version of this. We call ours Silters.

Visibility Filters control who can see you. Nobody else built these. Set them and anyone who does not meet your standards never sees your deck, never finds you, and never knows Friends On Deck is where you are. We call them Vilters.

Both directions clear before either person shows up. Which means the list you get is short, and the list you are on is short, and both of those are the point.

Adult friendship almost never dies of incompatibility. You meet somebody great, you both say we should hang out, and then eleven weeks go by and neither of you texts.

It dies because you are free Tuesday nights and they are free Saturday mornings. Because you want a running partner and they want somebody to go to shows with. Because you are twenty five minutes apart and neither of you is going to be the one who admits that is too far.

Every other app matches you on who you are. We ask when you are actually free, what you actually want to do, how far you will actually drive, and where you are in your life right now. Then we only show you the people where the answer works.

Not the friends you would theoretically get along with. The ones you will actually see twice.

Then you might be the whole point.

You have watched your friendships thin out for years while every app that could have helped assumed you were single and on the market. Every one of them was built for somebody else and quietly made you feel like the exception.
