On Deck does not require a traditional "match" before messaging. If someone can see your deck in their discovery feed, meaning both your filters align, they can send you a message.

This approach removes the friction of waiting for a mutual swipe while still preserving consent. You only receive messages from people who meet your filter criteria, and they can only see you because you meet theirs.

If you receive a message from someone you are not interested in, you can simply ignore it, or unmatch them, which deletes the conversation and prevents them from contacting you again. You are always in control of your inbox.
